Schools of Architecture are places for ideas and knowledge exchange both with students and teachers, and a forum for enriching conversations and constant questioning and research. My interest in these aspects as well as my fascination for project design and collaborative endeavour has led me to develop through all these years a strong connection with teaching and the academic environment.
Teaching has had a significant impact in my growth as an architect but moreover has given me the opportunity to share my passion for architecture with students.
Just after completing my studies at La Salle School of Architecture Barcelona, I was offered an assistant teacher position at the University’s preparation course.
From 2003 to 2008 I was a teacher of Introduction to Architecture, a course that introduced to the students some of the basic disciplines of the profession, with the final aim of awakening in them the interest in architecture, with the apprenticeship of drawing, history and project design.
During my time in London, I was a guest teacher in Final Crits at the UCA Canterbury School of Architecture, University for the Creative Arts and at the London Metropolitan University. Last year I participated in the Final Crits for the summer workshop "The Old Ways" at the Girona School of Architecture, together with Stephen Bates, Bet Capdeferro and Eileen Liebman.
Currently I am a teacher of Project Design to students of 3rd year at La Salle School of Architecture Barcelona.
The aim of this course is that the student acquires knowledge about geometry and composition as tools for form making while understanding the role of the project in the history of architecture and its relationship with artistic movements.
